Hi!
I just finished to install my hotchkis 3 leaf springs with the help of a friend on the 68 camaro, the hardest part was clearly insering the new bushing in the frame of the car !!
Well now it is on its wheel again the suspension seems really stiff , and i wonder if i don't need to adjust my Koni shocks. Though i don't know how to do this.
Please tell me .

Thank you.

I don't know if this is how your Koni shocks work, but for mine, you compress them all the way and then turn the upper part clockwise or counter closck wise. There may be arrows and a plus or minus sign on the top of the shoch to indicate which direction does what. Mine seem to have about three full 360 degree rotations of ajdustment, and the difference between softest to hardest is quite dramatic.

Thanks !

now there are on the car again, i didn't adjust the shocks yet since i bought the car last year. Since then i replaced my soft springs with slalom guldstrand srpings at the front (almost TOO hard) and now hotchkis rear leafs.

Do you think i need to harden the shocks??

I feel like it runs nice but i don't know , i can't compare.

hey Mkelci, your car seems great!

BTW how are you shocks adjusted?
i almost have the same suspension set up as you.

If you run GS front slalom springs, you will want to start with the KONI's on 'full soft'. They tend to have too much rebound valving for the GS spring if driven on less than perfect surfaces/the street.

Everyone I know with Hotchkis leaf ssprings and Koni shocks runs them on the softest setting. I am putting mine back to soft from medium this week.

thank you.
OK i will set them to soft.

it seems a bit strange to me as the springs are very hard but OK .... i don't know much about suspension and i have to admit here in Belgium, i always completly trust you guys when buying suspension parts.

I did the gulstrand mod also.

yes the car bounds on bad roads with the actual set up.

Thanks.
