Guys,
For you guys with the Bilsteins....I just put a set on my 69 Z and they seem very tight. The suspensions is stock except for some 1.5 in. (?) drop coils up front and after a complete rebuild I couldn't believe how much stiffer they where from my last shocks (AC Delcos HDs). First this is just an observation from trying to bounce the front and rear of the car - not driving. I have to wait at least 2 more good rains here in Mi. But it seems very stiff - not much movement with me (220 pnds) trying to bounce it. They feel like my Penske coil overs at about 3/4 full on my road race car. I was looking for a decent shock that would control the suspension without being harsh.....did I make a mistake or do I need to get some heat in this babies???????

Thanks - Tski

Heat...... They are nice at around 85-90* shock body temperature. Go for a drive for about 15 minutes and then throw it around from there. I am sure you will notice the difference from that point.

I know of no part, of any system in the automotive relm that you can just get-in, fire it up and beat the heck out of it......untill you warm it up, and expect any kind of performance or reliability from said part.

Excellent shock, just no one really tells you 'the whats up' before you install them and from the initial test drive around the block you question weather or not you made the right decision......dont worry, you did make a good choise....you were just not told about their 'cold' characteristics.

chicane67,
thanks, that is what I thought. I don't usaully see this characteristic on a cheaper shock (<$200 each price range). The feedback from everyone here at TC looks good so I'm hoping they will get the job done. I'm an automotive NVH engineer so NV'harsh' typically drives me nuts. It takes a lot of mental effort to overlook refinement from the 60s. Thanks for your feedback...
