I recently installed poly-graphite bushings all around on the front of my 69. When I went to put the lower arms back on, the bolts that go through the front part of the arm seemed very loose. If I put the bolt that was supposed to be on the rear section in the front it was perfect.
Am I doing something wrong? Will that looseness cause problems or should I get two bolts that are intended for the rear?
Thanks,
Matt

Both of the bolts should be the same. There should be a "shoulder" on the shaft of the bolt near the head. This is to fit the hole in the subframe. If a regular bolt is used, there will be some loosness. Also check the holes in the subframe for wear. Sometimes they are a little oval shaped due to the bolt rubbing.

That's what I suspected. Maybe these are some other bolts with a shoulder on them. After all, I did take the front end apart 2 years ago. It may be possible to lose a bolt or two in that time. I guess I am stuck getting two new ones. Where is the best place to get something like that? Year one?

Hey Matt,
Ricks has all the frontend hardware and it's inexpensive.

This is weird but my buddy has an uncle who is a NY State Trooper and his name is Matt Butts. No kidding. And he drives a pursuit Camaro.
