Anyone know where I could get a '69 Low-Note horn (p/n 9000289), new or used? Can't find any in the usual catalogs. Thanks!

Do you want NOS or would a repop do? There are a couple of classic chevrolet parts stores in Portland,Ore. I could hunt around.

Hey Green -

New, used, or repop is fine - don't care about date codes, either - as long as it works and looks right that's all that matters (mine is a cherry driver, not a judging trailer queen). The catalog replacements aren't even CLOSE to the correct appearance, and I'd like to have one that looks somewhere near correct to match the original high-note horn. Really appreciate your offer of help!

John- Go to any junk yard and you will find a ton of those things on all Chevy's. Try looking at Nova's, Monte Carlo's, Chevelles, etc. They are everywhere it semms and most always in great shape

Your local Chevrolet will carry a functional equivalent. Just bring in the old one since usually the note is stamped in the body.

If you try to use only one note (low-low or high-high) it just sounds weird.

I called Super Chevy Parts Co. in Portland, and they said they had a low-note horn which, although not "date-correct" for my car, looked just like the original. I ordered it, and it arrived today; sure enough, it's the Delco replacement horn that's flat on one side and has no similarity at all to the original. I'm sending it back tomorrow. Went to the boneyard this afternoon, and found exactly the horn I was looking for (9000289) on a '69 Nova for five bucks (it even works!).
