Hello friends check these new cool Globalwest arms!

No "guldstrand" mod needed..Boy i feel stupid now.i would save my frame if these were available then.

Looks interesting but dont kick yourself for doing the guldstrand mod b4 further info becomes available on these new arms. In the description it says "slows positive camber gain" which makes me wonder exactly how much of an effect they havw compared to the guldstrand mod or spindle extenders.

I recently came across a test of spindle extenders. With the static alignment set at 3/4 deg of neg camber, the car developed 3 1/8 degrees of neg camber when the wheel moved up two inches. I'd be curious to see some measurements of these new arms to see how they compare.

I think we're all getting a fever over tubular arms and need to take two aspirin. The price is a bit much to improve, but not correct, the camber/caster situation. I'm going with the spindle extenders. I have a spare subframe I may try the Gulstrand mod on but I hesitate since it's not undoable. I also think benefit from better alignment specs can help.

If anyone is running these arms let me know. I am interested to hear how they work even though they are out of my price range. I will probably go with the Guldstrand mod.

Let me run this by everybody. Whats wrong with offset upper A-arm cross-shafts??

Or do something stupid like install new solid poly upper A-arm bushings offset drilled to do the same thing as the offset- shaft??

Does using this stuff cause header clearance problems inside the engine compartment or what??? pdq67

My advice unless you like lots of trick parts and like to spend money...just use the spindle extenders and use that money to buy more beer (if your 21+ years old) http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

They look nice.
But, unless you can't get the alignment you want by shimming your stock arms, they won't improve handling.
In order to improve the camber gain you have to extend the top of the spindle or lower the inner mount. These arms don't do that as far as I can see.
They do allow more postive caster, but I ran as much as 5 degrees on my 67 without any special parts.
I assume the positive caster lowers the steering arm a little and that's where the claimed 50% bump steer improvement comes from.
I don't see what the big deal over tubular upper A frames is all about.

it's very simple! even if they don't offer a high degree of performance enhancements over simpler modifications it is genetic that we all must have something that looks so cool and know that our friends are drooling over our new high tech parts! it's just that simple!:d
