Any tips on removing and installing the rag joint? This is a project I will be doing in the near future and was looking for some heads up tips. sherr20 Apr 22nd, 03, 03:40 PM Just for some info on my project. I am installing a Flaming River tilt column and using their billet joint in place of the rag joint. The column and all the accessories that I ordered arrived yesterday and all looks to be excellent quality. I am just having problems getting the rag joint out, namely that pinch bolt due to the fact i still only have the use of my right arm, left is still broken and will have a shoulder to elbow plate put in on May 2nd. davidpozzi Apr 22nd, 03, 09:17 PM The bolt has to come out all the way, there is a groove in the shaft the bolt fits into. The coupler should then slide off. You may have to spread the coupler at the split by driving a wedge in it to open it up, but usually that is not needed. David |
