I have a 68 base model camaro and I'm thinking about converting it to a multi-leaf setup. I was wondering if its true that the multi leafs won't bolt up to the mono leaf brackets properly. And if thats the case then what should I do?

Hotchkis says that theirs will bolt over without any modifications to the undercarriage.

My car came stock with F-41 option, mono's on it.

I broke one so switched over to 5-leaf '68, F/B multi's and ran them for years. Now I have JCWhitney, '68 NOVA, three-leaf mono replacements on my car with the second and third leaf's out of the old 'Bird springs so that their rate better matches my about 500/525 pound coils.

Imho, they fit fine but aren't a stock fit tho b/c there is too much space between the mounting plates is all...

I am also using "U"-bolts instead of the little-bitty "T"-bolts that are stock for safety reasons b/c if the "T"-bolts let go you are in BIG-TIME trouble.....

Thank you guys for the info. One thing though, I heard that its the front mounting bracket that will give me issues? Is that not true? I just want to clarify is all, anyway thanks again you guys I really appreciate the help.

Since I have your attention, I was also wondering what would be the best way to lower the front about 1.5-2 inches. I don't have disc brakes in the front, so what I was thinking, is that I should do the conversion from drum to disc using a drop spindle. Is that true? If that's how I decide to do it then will my stock coils hold up or should I replace those as well? Sorry, I know these are all questions you've probably heard a million times. Thank you.

the hotchkis tvs kit will get the front end down 2"from stock, rear 1.5" with multileaf. Runs about $950.

Do a search under my handle using "angle grinder" and you will get the straight skinny on the front hanger problem and how several of the guy's went about tackling it!!..

And one other thing is that when you pull them out to replace your springs, now is the time to think real hard about installing subframe connectors and poly or solid subframe bushings too!!
