Resonably priced. Anyone used VGX? Thanks.

I now have the Hawk HP Plus in my Vette and Camaro. The difference they made is unbelievable. The pads work better as they get hot. In the Vette, with 255 tires, I was able to hit 1g deceleration. They do squeak a little and produce a fair amount of dust, but the performance is unbelievable. One axle set of pads runs about $70.

Ditto on BB69. The only drawback is the dust.

Porterfield and Hawk rank on the top of my list.

I second the Porterfield choice. The R4S pads work great and have very low brake brake dust generation. They work well for track schools too. Beware of the R4's for street use they work even better, but they will eat your rotors very quickly. But if your car is mostly used on the track...

When my brother was looking to improve the braking in his Miata, we were at Lime Rock and I spoke to some of the Miata spec racers. They liked the Hawk. I put HP's in his car and when he got home he called to say how much better they are. I put them on my Tracer beater-mobile and really like them. The HP plus is the next step up in agrressiveness. Good products.

I like VGX and Raybestos' top-of-the-line. I am using VGX on my 91 Nissan 300ZX Turbo and haven't had a problem street driving, rotors are in good shape, low dust AND NO SQUEAL!

Found this post in a search. I have single piston calipers. My local auto store sold me Kelsye Hayes Pro series pads. Just wanted to know if anybody here has used these or has info on them. Thanks

I've had great luck with Performance Friction carbon metalics on my truck and cars. They do tend to work better once heated just a touch.

I also like the Performance Friction carbon metallics. I have them on my cars and they were an inprovement over the Raybestos pads I had. Like all the rest, there is brake dust.
