My new hotchkis rear springs are installed.
Though, i didn't use the grease supplied for the bushings of my rear shackles (hotchkis leaf springs) .
I now just discovered the grease suppplied.
it was a very hard time to inser the bushing in the frame without grease ...
Do you think i could have damaged the bushings? (i don't think that)
or will damage them if no grease is on them now, installed on the car?
Marc
Anyhow next time i install bushings and i don't find the needed grease, i 'll use SOAP !!

Marc......I pulled the same stunt with mine, wondered what that gooey stuff was for. Save yourself time now and remove the bushings and lube them. Chances are, they are not damaged. Poly is pretty strong stuff and poly likes to be greased. graemlins/clonk.gif

you 're kidding?
do i REALLY need to remove them to grease them??
NO because it was such a pitty to install them that i 'd like to be certain i need to do that.
"I pulled the same stunt with mine" ... Does that mean you also forget to grease them?
and what happened?
i hate to do things twice. I like to work on the car but if i could avoid to remove what i just installed....
Tell me .

In my opinion... If they are the poly-graphite bushings you can just leave them and see if they squeek. If they are the plain poly bushings I highly recommend you yank them out and grease them up really well. I used a combination of the supplie lubrication as well as some synthetic chassis grease. Good luck.

You just need to remove the steel sleeve inside the bushing, the bushing can stay in place. Just remove the sleeve and smear the grease inside.

oh !! i though the grease came between the bushing and the frame graemlins/clonk.gif
Alright, that way without removing the bushing, i can obviously do it ;)
