my subframe has the stands, bushings for a small block, if i want to install a big block, how much tweeking or modifying has to be done to the frames engine supports to get it in, and does it matter which big block u put in? thanks

The sub-frame is the same for small block and big block engines. The parts you will need to change to have a succesful swap include the engine mount "stands", rear trans mount, clutch linkage, heater box and core,and possably the trans linkage( if automatic) and carb linkage. New exhaust headers and pipes will be needed. You may also consider a radiator upgrade depending on what you have now. Early big blocks mount the same way. I would do a search because I may be missing something else Good Luck

thanks, and it looks like i just let one big block get away. a neighbor has just sold a cadillac for 600 bucks, he was just fed up wth it and sold it yesterday. i was a 70's cadi with a big block, and was it very good condition. another missed opurtunity... :(

A Cadillac is not remotely similar to a Chevy big block so it would have required custom mounts to get in there, in addition to lowering the value of your car. Stick with a Chevrolet big block so it will bolt in.
