Has anyone tried mounting the SS hood ornaments on a cowl hood instead of a SS hood. I'm referring to the chrome "stacks".

I've never seen it, I suppose it could be done, but I don't think it would look very good. You'd probably get more disparaging remarks than good ones. Kinda reminds me of the Camaro I saw on Ebay yesterday, with all the RS badges, but no hideaway lights? I mean really, what's the purpose? Just my opinion......KZ

I always thought that would be one of the modifications I would have seen someone do at some time in the past, but never have. At least try it to a junk hood before putting on a good hood. One thing to keep in mind is the SS hood has ductwork you could say so the water that collects in the louvers drains into the duct and out the front bottom of the hood.

It probably wouldn't look very good. The SS hood has an inset/channel for the louvers to fit in which looks great.

Now what I would like to do is get rid of my stock 67 gas cap, fill the panel, and put in a '69 tank so the filler is hidden behind the license plate. But that is another project...
