I am installing my Baer brake system, the ports are different on the master cylinder so I have to bend some custom lines between the Mstr and splitter valve. Stock, the rear brake mstr to splitter line is larger than the front brake mstr to splitter line, front looks like 1/8 ID tubing, rear almost double.

Question is, due to fittings, can I just use the 1/8 ID brake line for both front mstr to splitter and rear? will this have any effect on brake quality or safety? This is a 4 wheel manual drum car going to Baer front drum rear for now.

Thanks

The rear brake line is allready large, you might as well stay large from the master cyl rear port to the rear line.

Well the master cylinder that Baer sent the rear port is the front brakes and the front port is the rear. I made custom lines to cross over to the splitter, but I used the same diameter on the rear brakes as the front fron mstr to splitter, mainly due to the fittings that came with all had the 3/16" inside diameter. Will it hurt my braking having the small lines on the rear? with drums? From the splitter aft is the stock size line, I am only talking between the splitter valve and master cylinder.
Thanks

a smaller diameter line will reduce the pressure slightly due to less square inches for same pressure. your best bet is to get a master which matches the line size.

but... if you dont want to do that....

the main thing to be concerened about is leaks. if the master is supposed to have 3/16" line, and the splitter is supposed to have 1/4" line, in order to avoid a possible leak at the worst time, you will have to use an adapter. the male flare inside the hole on the master and the splitter has to be the same size as the female double flare on the tubing (or adapter). i would suggest getting a 3/16" to 1/4" adapter for the master, and then using 1/4" line.

does that make sense?

Yep, now that I think about it, that makes sense. So I just need to get 1/4" line and new fittings, probably better than adapters....Thanks.
