In doing the C5 brake conversion, is a 98-02 camaro front caliper the same as a 97-? C5 front caliper? If using the bracket from each one? I have seen articles that say they are, but I have not been able to confirm.
I don't think so, the '98 up Camaro I believe is the same as the C4... www.touring-classics.com/Brake%20Kits.htm (http://www.touring-classics.com/Brake%20Kits.htm) does a C5 conversion and a hybrid C5 conversion using a C5 caliper on a C4 rotor...

The c5 caliper is the same as the LS1 Camaro, but the basket is not, so the brackets designed for the Camaro brakes will not work with the Corvette stuff.

I agree with DJD, however it's hard to tell. Here are pictures of 1998 and later, as well as 1994-97 Camaro calipers. Diskbrakes-R-us (http://www.discbrakesrus.com/make/chevrolet/camaro.htm)
If you go to gmpartsdirect.com you can put in the search for part #88895128 (Z06 front caliper). They don't show a pic of the regular C5 caliper #12530682. The Z06 front caliper almost looks like the one they are showing as the rear Camaro caliper.
I believe the pistons in the C5 are larger than the LS1/C4 caliper by a couple mm each.

So do you guys agree that the 98+ LS1 12" Camaro calipers will mount on the same bracket as a C4 12" Caliper?
I hope so, otherwise I might have the wrong brackets.....
