Can someone tell me if Big Block cars came from the factory with 4-leaf springs or 5-leaf in 1968? Are 4-leafs for Z-28 only? What about SS350? Thanks in advance.

If you decide to go w/ 5 leaf be careful some of them will set your car a mile high in the rear. Don K Jun 21st, 04, 01:23 PM Thanks racermike. My ss396 has 5-leafs on it right now and it squats pretty low and occasionally the passenger side tire bottoms out, even with new KYB's. I'm guessing they're just sacked. N.P.D.'s website shows more than one choice as correct. I'll probably just call Eaton Spring to see which to go with for a factory stance with 15" wheels. bbd564 Jun 21st, 04, 04:30 PM If the springs you are taking off are original, I may be interested in buying them. Let me know if you are interested, thanks, Bill D Don K Jun 22nd, 04, 07:10 AM Sorry bbd564, they're already spoken for. Have a friend who wants to replace his sagging mono leafs. bbd564 Jun 22nd, 04, 08:06 AM Ok, thanks for letting me know. litdog68ss Jun 25th, 04, 06:45 PM my big block 68 SS has 4 leaf rear springs... also another big block 68 im looking at has 4 leaf springs... im pretty sure theyre stock, but not totally... Meanchicken Jun 26th, 04, 09:33 AM My 68 SS has 3 leafs attached to my 12 bolt..... Back in the First Gen years, the buyer could pretty much spec it any way he wanted it. Tim |
