View Full Version : checking dimensions Drag Fabricator Apr 16th, 04, 04:54 PM i'm fitting up a sub i restored to the car, are the checking dimensions from inside to inside of the holes, or center to center? davidpozzi Apr 16th, 04, 10:56 PM I've got a frame chart with dimensions on my page below. David jannes_z-28 Apr 16th, 04, 11:49 PM I did that myselft the other day, I am welding in Subframe connectors and wanted to be sure that the subframe was in the correct position before welding it to the body. In the front crossmember there is a hole that is supposed to be in the cars centerline. So what you have to do is draw up the centerline on your floor from the body. You can measure the centerline from the master gauge holes on the drawing David Pozzi provides in his posting. Use the G and D holes for this. Now draw the centerline forward so that you can line up the crossmember hole to the centerline. You can also check the rear frame mounts to the centerline to be sure that it is straight in the body. I mean the forward hole can matche the centerline but it is possible that the rear is slightly off. There are master gauge holes in the subframe just in front of the rear mount. http://www.colorconsult.se/users/camaro/centerline_wide.jpg http://www.colorconsult.se/users/camaro/subframe.gif N.B. You should not detemine the centerline from the measures on the above drawing, it don't make sense. That drawing is there for you to find the hole in the crossmeber CY Good Luck Jan Drag Fabricator Apr 17th, 04, 06:52 PM thanks, Jan i combined your method with the checking dimensions and also the pin alignment and it should be good. |
