hi,

my left rear drumbrake is giving me headaches.

this brake didnt brake well, so i installed on both wheels new brakeshoes.

the shoes and drums are free of grease, this brake brakes about 50% comparing to the right brake.

it doesnt matter if i use the handbrake or normal brake, it just wont brake good enough!!!

i noticed that the cilinder in the leftrear brake leaks a little bit of oil, but that doesnt matter if i use the handbrake does it?

what can this be?

This problem must be solved before wednesday, or else im not allowed to drive this car on the road anymore(dutch rule :( )

If the wheel cylinder is leaking, I'd repalce it. It also sounds as though teh brakes may not be adjusted properly. I adjust mine with the drum off, adjusting the shoes out until I can barely get the drum back on. THe shoes should "drag" just a little bit.

replace the wheels cylinder and bleed it all out real nice, then adjust it so the drum turns with a very minute amount of drag. then d a few hard stops in reverse from about 10 mph to self adjust everything, and you should be good to go. you will actually be able to feel in the pedal when the drums are adjusted properly- the pedal will be rather hard and the brakes will work right away.
