I'm getting ready to do a 69 Rag top. does anybody have any picks of frame rail connectors installed? Does any body make them just for the rag top?

Mark, Welcome to TEAM CAMARO!

I'm going to move this to the Brakes & Suspension forum. I believe you'll get better exposure for your question there. Do a search on that forum and you'll find quite a lot of discussion on that exact subject.

Mark -

I used weld-in connectors from S&W in my 68, and had to cut the welded X-brace and then weld it to the connectors. I had no other choice, because the rockers were so compromised that they were beginning to have running stress cracks at the leading edges.

I'd be happy to email you pictures, but I assume this is more drastic than what you are looking for. I have never seen connectors, either bolt-on or weld-in, specifically designed for clearance on the convertible bracing. I would think that someone skilled with a plasma cutter and a welder could do some notching on the off-the-shelf connectors available.

Erik is right, someone handy with a plasma cutter and a welder would have little trouble grafting them in...

Global west's new part number 900C is a listing for convertible subframe connectors, they sell these for 224.99 (list)

I'd give detroit speed and engineering a call, they used to offer these as well, but I do not see a listing on their site...

Good luck
John

Here is what I did, notched and boxed bolt-ins from Jeg's....

(they were just being test fitted in the pic, hence no paint)

Hope this helps...

For another option, check out my link for pics of the GW connectors.

I didn't want to hack the crossbrace or the floorboards.
