Im assembling a subframe and was wondering if its important what orientation the bolt heads should be in on the lower control arms? Heads on the outside, nuts on the inside? Or am I nuts?

Thanks Rich

i put mine in from the rear withy the threads forward- if only to make it easier to pound them out should i ever need to take it apart again.
and, also, that's they way they were put in my subframe stock.

I have the feeling the factory did it whatever way they felt like back then.
Mine were installed with the heads forward from the factory. I had to hammer one out and had to be careful that the sledgehammer didn't dent my firewall.

Put them in whatever way you want. Derrik has a good plan though.... installing them from the back with the heads towards the firewall. It'll help you hammer them out 30 years from now. ;)

I put my front ones in with the threads facing front and the rear bolts with the threads facing the rear. Although that's how they were originally on my car, I don't know if that's how it was from the factory.

I dunno if RickD's were that way from the factory either, but that's the way I prefer to put them in. If you install 'em like he says, you can easily "beat" them back out if you ever have to. If you have them in with the threads facing towards each other you can't get a punch on the threaded end when removing.

My bolts were in originally with the heads of the bolts facing to the front of the car. I believe the manuals I reviewed showed them this way also.
