Does anybody know of a good source for me to purchase a rebuild kit for a 1969 M21? Rick's first gen shows a rebuild kit in their catalog but I was looking for other sources to compare pricing. Thanks!!

Go to any NAPA Parts store and ask for individual items.

Beware of the cheap rebuild kits. They most likely have junk bearings in them. The better kits will have correct, quality bearings. For example, the front bearing should be a max-fill(10/11 ball) type. A lot of kits just use a standard (8 ball) type . I replaced the bearings I got in the kit from Rick's with SKF pieces.

A great place I found is called Portland Transmission in RI. They have been supplying Muncie parts to racers and people since they have come out and can supply you with anything. Alot of the parts are orig GM and they are very knowledgable with the trans, not just the parts

They sell rebuild kits. Click on the pictures link. I haven't ordered one yet, but this is where I'm getting mine from for my M-22.

I just purchased a kit for my Muncie from the guys at Medatronics. ((561) 447-9594) The kit was outstanding, with all quality bearings, no China crappola, and also came w/ the countershaft. The guys have everything for Muncie transmissions, and are reasonably priced. The website is www.gearzone.net (http://www.gearzone.net)
Definitely worth checking them out.
