has anyone used the QA1 coilover conversion on a first gen, was wondering how it handled, i have a set on my racecar and was thinking of swaping it, havent run the racecar on the road so i dont know how they handle the curves

I just hooked up a set to my '67. Took it for a run last week and it handled much better than previous. The reason I switched was due to putting in a big block and I had to change out the old springs and shocks anyway. It was an all day process.

Those site are dedicated to suspension/performance upgrades for road race and performance driving cars. Lot's of knowledgeable suspension guys who have lot's of experience with all the commercially available upgrades and one off custom suspensions.

One note on corner-carvers, if you pose that question in that form, you will get blasted and maybe even banned from that site. Just a word of caution.

Don't bother with CC.com. The folks that'll know about this type of car, are at pt.com.

The qa1 coilovers would help due to ability to get exact spring rate you want and also change compression and rebound on these. However I would suggest doing the Guilstrand mod to the upper a-arm mounts or going with the DSE coilover kit. I went with the latter and I am very close to driving it. DSE kit users Koni shocks with Afco springs. Per Kyle, it handles very well comparable or better than 4th gen camaros.
