We have almost finished up on side of the front end of my 68. Got the ball joints in, upper and lower control arm bushings in. Now just need to set the spring and put it all back together and then jump on the other side.
Should I wait to get the weight of the car on the ground before I torque the control arms (or anything else)? I've got them pretty tight now. Thanks much!

you can torque all the ball joints and tie rod ends and idler arm and pitman arm. but don't torque any rubber or poly bushings until full car weight is on them.
if you torque the control arm bushings while they hang the bolt "locks" the bushing. when you drop the car onto it's wheels the control arms twist and rip the bushings.

Ok, I will snug the bushings up a little before setting on the ground. Then torque. It will be tight getting in there while its on the ground.

dont snug until its on the ground. Just put the nut on there and wrench it close.
Infact after its on the ground, with mine i found i dropped the car a little by picking up and pushing down on the front end to seat everything, then torque it down.
After a few weeks the springs settled a little bit, and i found that by loosening the bushings and again picking up and pushing down on the front end, it came down even more.
Then torque em down again.
Then again mine is a loose suspension set-up for Drag racing.
