My 67 is a 10E. The alignment of the clearance hole for the shock in the top subframe surface under the upper control arm mounting weldment is too far off center to allow use of Edelbrock IAS shocks. They mount with the barrel up top and there is just not enough room without hacking it apart.

That's strange, others have posted here and say they are using them!
Try searching on IAS or edelbrock using the search link, upper right of this page.

Looking up through the lower control arm to the upper shock mount hole tells the story.
Not enough room to the inside. If I were going to do a Guldstrand on it I could fix it but otherwise I dont see a way of getting in there.

I just ran into the same problem with my 67 convert on the passenger side. Luckily I'm doing a drum/disc swap and I have the upper A arm off for new bushings. I'll have to remove the spring and torch about 1/4 inch off the frame in order to get the shock to fit.
