Thanks 68 SS Clone http://my.core.com/~ss502 robbaker Apr 24th, 03, 03:17 PM I had the same problem with mine, I couldn't find one in any of my catalogs and you would think that it would be a fairly easy item to find. There is a place called Steering Columns Galore and they do have a web site. I got mine out of junkyard, it came out of a Jeep CJ5. I had to do a little modification to the plastic retainer but it was pretty easy with a Dremmel tool. You can do a search on e bay and there is a Jeep lower bearing repair kit that sells for 17.00 or so and that will show you the bearing that you need. This is the same bearing that you will get from Steering Columns Galore that they want 20.00 for plus 8.00 to ship. dnult Apr 24th, 03, 05:01 PM Around Austin here, there are several bearing places. They claim they can get just about any bearing ever made. If you have similar distributors in your area, take the bearing to them and see if they can find a replacement for you. -dnult Dave Brinson Jul 17th, 03, 09:30 AM Well Guys I just returned from the dealer and the they had the bearing. it is part number 7805700. But the hub that it sits in is not available anymore so I guess its the wreaking yard. Thaks for your help. Dave |
