I recently got my 67 back from the body shop from having the paint touched up. Thay said the body is showing signs of flexing/twisting. I have bolt in subframe connectors and a 5 point roll bar which is only welded to the body with 6"x6"x1/8" plates. Besides welding in the subframe connectors and swapping out my poly body mounts for solid mounts, what else could I do to beef up the factory frame? Would swapping out my traction bars for Caltracs by Calvert Racing help?

Go from a 5-point rollbar to a 10-point cage. This would tighten up the subframe to the unibody by running two bars from the dash to the front of the subframe.

Anytime you can make a triangle, the better the support.

Ask them to show you the 'flex joints' they found. Continue with solid bushings and welding in the s/f connectors.

I think a often overlooked area with subframe connectors is where they connect too. Typically they go from the rear of the factory subframe to the the spring pocket area, this stresses an area that does'nt need any more stress. By useingthe rear frame rail as an anchor point you end up with a much stronger and stiffer unitbody. And that is our goal afterall. You will have to do some investigating into the different manufactuers of connectors ( I used Golbal West ) as their are many. Hope this helps.
