I,m just about to start putting My subframe together, I bought the QA1 shocks for the front , I now want to put tubular control arms on this thing . I do want the best but is there anything cheaper than DSE at $650.00 plus for the upper's . I can't find a price on Speedtech and Global west's website is being worked on . Does anybody know what they are worth .

Speedtech are much cheaper than DSE, the GW arms are about 450 I beleive. The DSE arms are the hottest thing going in tube arms though, don't get cheap now.

Speed Tech arms are $439 according to their site: http://www.speedtech-performance.com/Control%20Arms/Upper%20control%20Arms.php

Global West arms are $499. http://www.globalwest.net/Camaro%20and%20Firebird%201967%20through%201981%20 suspension%20parts.htm#No%20frame%20modifications% 20required.
Any of them will work well.

OOps didn't realize you were in Canada! I'd guess the US made arms are way more expensive for you...

Hi David , in your honest opinion would you get the DSE or the Speedtech . Also would you run the upper and lower's , most poeple say just change the uppers , I want to drive this thing , drag a couple times a year and no road racing .

I have been researching doing the same as you are. A big thing to me is how much a manufacturer is willing to talk about your project and give support. I have been talking with Todd at speedtech and he has been very helpful. I will be going with upper and lower arms with the Qa1 coilovers from speedtech. They seem to be a quality product, at a good price, and changes the suspension geometry. Also considering stock lower arms are not meant to hold all of the weight at the shock mounting point, I would suggest either reinforcing the stockers or go tubular.

I agreewith you DSE looks nice but just like all of their other products the price seems to be pretty high even though they are nice. I wasn't aware of the Speed tech arms, they look nice. Maybe they would do a group purchase and the price may be lower? Depending on price I may be interested.

DSE parts do cost more, because they do extensive development, analysis and actually design thier OWN parts, and not just copy and reverse engineer like others. I know DSE does FEA analysis and other industry standard testing when developing thier components...Do these other companies? I don't know....I am just waiting for the first person to have a major failure with a "cheaper" part that "looks" good and "seems" quality. It may not happen, but if it does, and your wheel is laying 100 ft. away from your car, don't get upset, just remember, you saved a few bucks.

I support the guys who developed them and brought them to market, plus are suspension engineers for GM, which is DSE.

DSEs arms cost DSE more than what ST charges for there arms to consumers. The cost is mainly in materials and machining.

My opinion is either GW or DSE for the uppers. Being Canadian you may want to go with the ST and keep the money in house so to speak.

I agree that if you are going to use the QA1 coilovers than get tubular lowers. The irony is that the DSE lowers are 550US. Add the Holiday discount of 10% and that should get you lower than the ST lowers.

What's the opinion on global west arms. They cost about the same as speedtech's. Any one used them?
