I have a 68 camaro and i got new tie rods and i dont know how to adjust them. The book says to have the same number of threads on the inner and outer tie rods between the connector but how many threads do i need on each side. Please help

I'm no expert so maybe someone else will chime in but you should make them the same length as the one's you took off. In other words tie rod - sleeve - tie rod length should be the same as the tie rod - sleeve - tie rod you took off. If you've already disassembled the old tie rods and sleeves, here's what I would do straighten the wheels and fit em up with equal length coming out of each sleeve and drive slowly to the alignment shop. If it drove like crap at slow speeds around the neighborhood, I'd have it towed to the alignment shop. Do some searching on here and you'll turn up a good link to a do it yourself alignment that could get you to the shop. I think it's on one of the car mag sites.
