View Full Version : What is this called?
RamJam Nov 18th, 03, 07:15 PM And where can I get it? I have over 4 1st gen parts catalogs and I can't find this part in any of them. It holds the 2 front brakelines together. The part is circled in red. What else can I use here besides flex ties. smile.gif Thanks

pdq67 Nov 19th, 03, 01:48 AM My drum brake car didn't have that on it b/c I just worked her over AND it 's not there!!

a67 Nov 19th, 03, 02:59 AM It actually looks like a custom piece. Maybe one of the 'billet' jobbies places sell.
Bob.
Mr. C Nov 19th, 03, 05:36 AM Its not used on the drum brake cars, Disc only. Because the drum cars have a bracket on the side of the frame bent at a 90 degree angle with a hole in it for the hose to mount to. Disc brake hoses dont. They use this bracket. This is one of the first things you can look for to see if a car origonally had disc brakes, because this bracket is usually not installed.
Mr. C Nov 19th, 03, 11:55 AM Guess you could split two pieces of 3/8 fuel line hose and put around the lines and the band both together with a heater hose clamp if your not worried about origonality. Just an idea !!
RamJam Nov 19th, 03, 06:21 PM Thanks for the ideas guys. I posted a pic below of the clamp thanks to camsdad. Now that I can see it better. I'll just make one although it would be even easier with dimensions. smile.gif
Sorry guys didn't know it was this big. smile.gif

camsdad Nov 19th, 03, 11:18 PM BTW
It comes in a Disc brake bracket kit.
Ground Up PT# FBC-1001 page 47
Ricks First Gen PT# DBC-26 page 71
Classic Industries 2002 catalog PT# HC65 page 675
just to name a few.
:D
RamJam Nov 20th, 03, 07:12 PM Yes, Now that I've seen a close up of the part I see that it is in the catalogs but like you said only in kits. I can't see buying a kit when that clamp is the only part I'm missing. I have all the other brackets.
