View Full Version : bushing updates
69cp.fs Mar 20th, 01, 01:00 PM Anyone have any good or bad feedback on poly bushings and bodymounts for 1st gen. Camaros. Looking to replace replace cracked and rotted factory ones. Seems everyone sells them so the decision on which ones to buy is a little muddy. Any info would be great.
mccorry Mar 20th, 01, 01:14 PM I went with the Poly graphite ones from PST. I am very happy with the ride so far...

69cp.fs Mar 20th, 01, 01:43 PM I looked thru the search topics and saw some people referring to hasher and noisier rides. Mccory, any noticeable changes in your ride?

69cp.fs Mar 21st, 01, 07:45 AM Anyone try the masterflex kit from Jeg's. Would it compare to the poly graphites from PST? Good product? Good value?
Racer#00 Mar 21st, 01, 09:22 AM Here's another vote for PST. Rebuilt my stock car front end with the poly graphite. Works great! I will be getting another kit for my 67.

67stock Mar 21st, 01, 08:04 PM Where you buy the PST's from? Aren't the Energy suspension ones the same? Or no?
I'm gonna be sandblastin the control arms tommorrow night then priming so now would be a good time to return these while I still can if I want different ones. All I'm doing at the moment is the A-arm bushings 'n ball joints.
69er Mar 22nd, 01, 10:39 PM Energy Suspension bushings are excellent bushings.

kbcamaro Mar 24th, 01, 09:24 AM I have PST bushings and body mounts as well. The Energy bushings are not graphite impregnated, and squeak more from what I've heard.

Rons68 Mar 24th, 01, 03:59 PM I replaced all of my bushings with the ones from Energy Suspension that I bought from Jeg's. I used the grease that came with them, and haven't heard any squeaks for over two years now. I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that the black ones have graphite in them. I used the black ones on my car. All of the black ones have a "G" suffix after the part number - meaning "graphite" ?
Rons68 Mar 24th, 01, 04:10 PM 68ragtop - I just saw your reply in a previous post about the "G" meaning "graphite". Thanks, Ron.
my69gofast Mar 24th, 01, 04:52 PM The Energy Suspension control arm bushings in my car have 10,000 miles on them and havent squeaked so far. I slopped a lot of lube on during installation. Ride is definitely not harsh (with stock spring rates and KYBs).
SpeedyBird Mar 24th, 01, 07:27 PM use only the black energy bushings they are graphite impregnated. the colored ones are not for street setups. the pst are good but they messed my order up.
