Hi Guys just wanted to get some feedback on what"s the best way to lower frt.end on my 69 rs. The car presently doesn't have disc brakes at this time but plans are to put discs on the frt. My dilema I guess is do I put stock discs on the frt and cut the coil springs to lower or would you put drop spindles and discs and lower it that way?I'm planning on 17'' wheel+tires too. I"m looking for a decent ride if possible and would greatly appreciate hearing how all you guys did this to your cars. Thanks alot Joe.

I have heard the drop spindles are a no-no, several members have tried them and don't like the results. The easiest way to lower is to either cut the springs or install a new set of drop springs. If you are going be removing the springs anyway you will be ahead of the game if you do your brake conversion at the same time. You can even use the drum spindles with a little machining.

See David Pozzi's page for details:

Good Luck!

I recently installed some 2'' lowering coil springs from Hotchkis. You can look at some before and after pictures on my site... www.geocities.com/boodlefoof (http://www.geocities.com/boodlefoof)

I say throw some springs at it. You also might want to consider a Baer brakes swap....you can use you drum spindles and bolt on just about anything they make.

Food for thought.....
