I'm not happy with the stance from my 1in. lowered Eibach springs. I want to cut about a quarter off a coil, Do I cut the coil from the top or the bottom? I know the bottom has to seat in the a-frame but does the top of the spring also have to seat? Thanks John

I always put the cut end in the spring pocket of the lower control arm. Since this pocket is alot deaper then the upper, and the top of the spring will pretty much be flat anyways.

Just make sure that the Eibach spring that you have is a linear rate spring. I am sure that all of Eibach springs for the front of 1st Gen's (dont know if your car is a first gen or not) are linear, but if it is a progressive rate spring......BE CAREFUL and trim as little as possible. Progressive rate springs are pretty much trash if you cut them as they DO NOT respond the same as they would if they were a linear rate type spring.

Hello !
I cut the springs, too => The car was too low after cutting, although I did some measurements !!! My mistake was that I noticed too late, that the spring didn't fit the lower seat.
Check the correct seat of the coil ends in their seat and only cut if this is not ok.
I think the travel of the coil spring is the doubled way of the wheel.
Don't do my second mistake : I only installed one side of the car and the other side was on the jack, so the aftermarket stabi falsified my measurements.
(Later my buddy used some hidden height jacks ( I don't know if this is the right expression) from landrum (?) to use the cutted springs. It's a fine way to go to tune the stand of the front.
