Help brake masters of Team Camaro!
Recently I started the conversion from drum to disc and the question I have is this: I bought what was identified as a 69 Camaro disc front drum rear proportioning valve and it looks the same as my manual drum brake one. There is a difference in the numbers in the casting or stamped numbers, but are they the same? Can I use the original as it is better condition than the one I bought? The ports and fitting sizes are also identical. The only thing I can not say is if it is from a power disc / drum system. Is there a way to decode these?
Thanks for the help!

The 69 Camaro used the same distribution block with warning switch on drum and disc brake cars.
There were two added valves used on disc cars.
A metering or hold back valve which is kinda round and tucked right up next to the master cyl. and a proportioning valve down on the frame rail under the driver's seat.

If the valve you bought has the switch and looks like your drum valve, it is no better or different.

My page below has more info on the valves.

David, thanks. Does this mean I need that other round type also? The one I have is mounted using an "L" bracket and bolts on to the same stud as the master cylinder.
