I think Federal Mogul is BCA, I'd use those.

Stock hubs... I just saw an ebay ad with "buy it now" $25 + shipping for precision and BCA's for $45 + shipping. Both were for 2ea A2, 2ea A6 and 2 each 8705S seals. I found the BCA's on www.rockauto.com (http://www.rockauto.com) and the total came to $30.52 and the shipping is less...

Always good to shop around... Thanks for the info guys,

My only criteria would be if they had "Made in USA" on them. If so I would use them.

When I started gathering parts, I went to a local parts store that I know has a huge inventory... I think I paid 25 dollars for all but the outer dust caps and they were Federal's

That's a real good price as I called Kragen and was told list was over $60 for all 6 pieces and they could let me have them for $48 and tax... That was for the BCA's.

I got Koyo. I think I asked here about their quality..

It appears they are the third largest bearing manufacturer in the world b/c one of the sites addresses I just looked at said so.

Gee, I might know a little about these things...

The inner bearing is a LM67048 cone and LM67010 cup. Popular nomenclature for an assembly (cup and cone) is LM67048/010. It is also known as an A6 set.

The outer bearing is a LM11949 cone and LM11910 cup. Popular nomenclature for an assembly is LM 11949/910. It is also known as an A2 set.

Right now, without some additional research, I cannot confirm if the Timken and BCA parts are made in the US. Timken has moved a bunch of manufacturing to Romania and Mexico. BCA as well. SKF also makes these sizes but I believe they are made in Sweden.

Federal Mogul/BCA is owned by NTN. Federal Mogul sold off all of their bearing manufacturing capability back in the early 90's. NTN still markets and brands BCA for market acceptance.

Koyo, though a good product, is fairly far down on who's who bearing list. #1 SKF, #2 ***/INA/Barden, #3 NSK. Koyo is owned by Toyota. SKF owns CR (Chicago Rawhide) seals.

If you buy a CR A6 or A2 set (that's the two bearing sets above) in the U.S. there is a very good probability that you will find an NSK part in the box.

Not all Timken parts are made by Timken ;)

Are there some technical differences between manufacturers? Yes. However, for 99.999 % of us it won't make a bit of difference. I beat the crap out of the last set that was in the car and they came out and cleaned up perfect.

Dennis, if you beg and grovel I'll send you a nice new complete set for your Camaro. Call it a Thank You for your work here on the site. FREE, FREEBIE, ZERO, NADA.....

The seals are a CR P/N 17187. Many of the Timken labled seals are NOK parts in Timken packaging.

Damn, I love this place.

I think that it should be duely noted that generosity speaks volumes of the kind of people that we have on this site.

My comment wasn't to Bob!! And it really has nothing to do with buying American... graemlins/clonk.gif

To declare that nobody cares but the guy who suggested to buy American is the objection in this case...

As for quality read what Carl wrote...

If SKF are the best bearings out there and made in Sweden run them if you want. It's got to do with another right as an American "Freedom of choice" I for one won't belittle others for not buying American if they choose too.
