Hal has a coil-over set up for the first gen. It uses their promo-star 12 way adj. shock[which is re-valvable+re-buildable]with a progressive spring. The small end of the spring rests on the SINGLE adj. collar the larger end is the same diameter as a normal spring and goes up into spring bucket just as a normal spring. It has a mounting"pearch" which is just a flat piece that bolts to the shock mounting holes in the lower control arm that has two ears with a bolt hole through them for connecting the sperical lower shock mount.the top just like a normal shock.Height adj. could be made by turning the one adj. collar, its supposedly 12 way adjustable,re-valvable,re-buildable and spring changes[if ness, not sure what the spring rate is]could be done by supporting the car with suspension hanging free, back the adj. collar off to release tension on spring, and then remove it like you would a normal shock.OR possibly after releasing tension you could remove the "pearch" and pull it through the hole in the control arm[I havent tried any of this yet,Im just kinda thinking out loud]
