Car Craft mag, Jan '81, Had an article on making your Camaro/Firebird turn better. In it they showed a front subfame brace that Herb Adams developed for first gen F-bodies. It looks like the ultimate answer to stop any unwanted movement in the front end. I would like to aquire a set for my 69 autocrosser. Does anybody know where I can pick up a set?

If you have the solid subframe bushings, you can do pretty well without them.
Moroso used to sell them.
If they don't anymore, call Mat Adams at VSE, he's Herb's son. I was just there over a month ago and VSE is still in buisness doing kit Cobra's.

The solid aluminum bushings are ordered and supposed to be on their way along with a few other odds and ends from Guldstrand but I think I'm still going to pursue the braces from Matt. Thanks.
Any idea what Moroso was getting for them?

Please post back if you find them. Sounds interesting. Although I haven't concluded anything, I have been thinking about what additional engine compartment bracing might make sense. I think it would be pretty straight forward to add some bracing from the firewall to the subframe. I just don't know if there's a realworld benefit. Having a convetible, I'm looking for anything to help.

69 RS Conv,355,M20,4.10's and I don't worry about stone chips.

Mat lives just above the shop (upper story) and I'm sure he is still there. He might be out of town for a fiew days or something.
He was working hard on a customer's Cobra kit with VSE aluminum chassis, and alloy small block 434 chevy engine. Power should be 650 or so. This thing's going on the street!
Interesting to note their ford rear axle setup handles better than their independent rear suspsension version!!
