I'm going to Autocross my Camaro this year. There are several suspension changes that I am going to be making over the next couple of months. First on my list is trading out the 2" drop spindles, the 10-3/4" disks, and FatMan tubular A-Arms (the narrowed ones). I am going to put back on the Drum Spindles with C4 12" disks and calipers, and Stock A-arms (with Guldstrand mod). I'd like to hear about different rotor options. I have gotten the GM part numbers off David's site for the JL9 12" Rotors but I am wondering if these are the best rotors to go with If I'm going to be Autocrossing. Then there is the after market. I have heard mention regarding EradiSpeed rotors and I know there are more options out there. Before I spend my money, I would like to hear from those out there that Autocross and what their thoughts are on Rotor options. I don't have a lot of money to throw around, and what I do have I want to spend on Rotors that will do the job!
Following this change, will be the rear brakes to the 4th Gen disks.

I think the only benefit would be a little weight loss with the Baer rotors. I don't think you will stop any faster. Heat dissapation won't be a factor for autocross.

rick,

good question! i'm doin the C5 swap up front now and plan on autocross'n my 69 this summer.
i'm also on a limited budget so i'm try'n the raybestos brutestop rotors out. i've never used these rotors before.

http://www.raybestos.com/usa/rotors.htm

they are very reasonably priced, about half the price of the gm pieces. i went through rockauto.com. i figure if they dont work out i'm not out alotta loot.

might want to check out the corvette forum...

theres some good info there. seems a good number on there use raybestos as cheap replacements.

hopefully others with more experience will comment.
good luck with your swap

The brutestop rotors are made by BPC who supplies Raybestos, AC delco, and Aimco smong others. They are very good rotors and I am very happy with the ones I have tested. If you go to a Gm dealership and purchase a set of rotors, they will have BPC right on them just like the others.

I used the cross drilled ones Summit Racing sells- seem like a nice piece for under $100.

The matching VGX pads seem a bit hard... work better once warm. I think I'm going to go back to carbon-metalics.
