I was poking around there again today but what I am looking for a picture of the assembled 3 leaf in a mono perch. I know you have a picture of the mono spring in the mono perch but could not find a picture of the 3 leaf in mono perch.

Here is a couple of pictures of my VB 3 leaf mono's and a mono shock plate. I was hoping to compare my install with others.

Does that look about right David? I used pads on both the top and bottom of the spring.

That looks pretty good to me.
I have a photo of my guldstrand springs on the top of my page, but the shot is from below.
When I take it apart I'll get a shot of the spacer plate I used on top of the spring for the center bolt.

I have pretty much the same thing. With the exception that I ditched the pads. I recently made up some alloy spacers for the spring bolts, just as not to bend the plates. Simple bar stock with a hole and left them about 0.100" short to provide some clamping load to the spring. Probally unnessary, but just had some alloy laying around and I was bored that day.

Why is the pad needed? What is it's intended use? Can you eliminate them and not have problems? I have yet to get new springs after seing these pictures I think the hotchkiss springs will fit my mono perches just fine.

Did you VB springs lower the car if so how much? how much did they cost you? Are you using VB fronts? If so did they lower the car? how much? The VB catalog loads very slow with my connection.

Thanks
Joe

The pads are for noise and vibration reduction. I dont think I have used the pads in any car that I have done a spring change in, and come to think of it, I have never had a problem with them not being there.

Joe: The VB springs actually raised the rear from where it was with the old tired monos. The old passenger spring was in such sad shape the front eye was starting to unwind.

I have 27" tall tires on it now and am going to have the spring dearched about 1.5"'s. When that is done, the rubber pads will go.

Front springs haven't been replaced yet. I will swap them when I do the front disc brake conversion. Not sure which springs I will go with yet.

Looks just like mine..

But my lower plates are bent some, no biggy though to me..

I do like the spacer thing so when/if I go in and install more leafs from my old multi's, I just might put spacers in to keep my plates from bending anymore!

The pictures don't show it but there is a slight bow in the plates. I think with both pads removed the shock plates will be close to touching the perch and the spring will fit a bit better in the perch.

It's OK to remove the pads, isn't it?
