i picked up a manual master for a 77 Malibu for my Nova with the PBR front calipers, and i can't get the thing to bench bleed right. the big resevoir for the front brakes works great, and really moves a lot of fluid, but the small one for the rear does nothing, except for the occasional tiny bubble that comes out of the little hole in the bottom. crack the bleeding line loose at the fitting, and fluid comes out due to gravity, but no pressure when i push the cylinder with a screwdriver. i figured i'd just plug the lines and put the cover back on it and let it sit over night and see if that magically helps. is the master bad, or does it just take a bit of time sometimes? never had one this hard to bench bleed before. it is a $30 reman, if that makes any difference. this, and the fact that no parts store around here can find the 10mm fine thread banjo bolts the PBR calipers use are the only things keeping me from getting the brakes hooked up and functional.

Try the Harley Dealer for the 10 mm bolts. Handlebar M/C is 10 mm.......Tony

There is a very stiff spring between the rear piston and front piston, if you don't push hard enough the rear spring won't allow the rear piston to move.

i push the thing in as far as it will go, and still only the big resevoir does anything.
thanks for the tip on the banjo bolts- every parts house i go to just gives me a blank stare. there is a Harley dealer about 25 miles from here, might have to give them a call tomorrow. they are 10mm fine thread? are any other bikes the same?

Yes, 10 mm fine thread. I don't know about other brands. If there is an aftermarket bike shop close to you, they usally carry misc brake parts. Mabey you would be able to find something there. Drag Specialties has a good selection. ....Tony

The correct bolt for Corvette and Camaro PBR's is GM P/N 10286122. This bolt is longer than most junkyard vesions taken from the imports.
