I am trying to decide on what braking system i will use for "50-50". I have used Baer with good results in the past, but being that i'm a tech at Jaguar/Porsche of Las Vegas, i also know that the Brembo monobloc calipers are the best system i have ever experienced. I was thinking of adapting the new porsche GT2 calipers and rotors, since the monobloc calipers have 6 pistions now. That and the rotor is made of ceramic compsitie, that will never wear out! What do you guys think? Keep in mind i'll be running corvette suspension.

sounds like either choice would work very well.
The Porsche caliper would have an advantage of having a pad that you could buy at any Porsche dealer.
The Alcon may allow more clearance allowing a larger rotor than the Brembo would allow.
The Porsche rotor, does it bolt to a hat?

It's riveted to the hat. But the new GT2 brakes are made of Ceramics, and have killer unsprung weight, plus the disipate heat instantly, and never wear out. They would be pretty trick. Plus I'm tired of every 1st gen Pro-Touring car having the Baer as standard equipment. I need to change it up a bit.

I would have gotten the Alcons from Baer, but they are expensive. Alcon has a web site and they make up to 32 piston calipers. They have some really wild brake parts. http://www.alcon.co.uk/index.htm

willwood manual 13"/12" set-up is less weight, stops great and all four corners cost less than the rear kit from baer.
but the porche stuff sounds like it might worth it

I am sure you know bigger bear brakes are made by alcon. Have you thought AP Brakes?
www.apracing.com (http://www.apracing.com) ,they are quite serious brakes. I recall Dough Rippie uses them. Not so "fancy" like alcon but i think you are more "go" than "show" driver http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif!

The AP brakes are quite similar to the Brembos. The reason i like the brembos it the cailper is made from 1 solid piece of metal, hince the "monobloc" word. It will never crack, or flex and will just drain your internals out of your belly button if you ask them to. I think the brembos are the way to go for performance and repeatablity.
