Which rear shocks would be better for a street/strip 67' camaro? which are more streetable, the koni's have a big warning on them! but are they dangerous?
383CI, very torquey with a TH-350 is going in there.
I'm also swapping over to a 12 bolt rear and caltracks and whatever leaf is best, i have 28" tires on there, i dont want them to hit at all! will these shocks help prevent that?
the leafs (even though brand new) are basically sh*t and they give alot, and i'm forced to use annoying air shocks to avoid rubbing the wheels.
If all else fails i'll have to mess around with the sheetmetal in the back so if they rub it wont be disasterous, or it'll prevent them from rubbing.
Thanks!

Why not go with the Rancho adjustable shock that Calvert recommends? They are externally adjustable via a knob and work great (I hear) on the strip or street depending on adjustment.
Personally I just ordered a pair of those shocks, but don't have them yet. I've got Summit adjustables in the rear and I don't like them, and adjustability where you have to take the shock off to adjust them pretty much means they don't ever get adjusted in my case. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

What warning is on the Konis? Never heard of that. I just installed Konis on my 69 with the Hotchkis upgrade. No warnings on mine.
What kind of shocks are you looking at?

Joe,
Drag race Koni's according to Koni are track only items. I am replacing mine as the previous owner put Koni drag shocks on. Ride wise with a lot of urythane it's comfortable but I really haven't pushed it around corners... The ones I currently have are SPA1's I believe...

I have the comp engineerings, but am not too thrilled-- a decent drag shock that you can stiffen for 'normal' street driving, but too soft on compression if you want it to handle real good. I'm likely going to change to the HAL/QA1's since they seem more adjustable (12 positions)

I've heard QA1 werent any good at all, for the price that is.
DJD, never even heard of those (i'm not up on suspension news very much) they sound good where'd you get them from.
I'm not really worried about cornering i just dont want the car to be scary if i take a corner to fast.

I couldn't find them on the Koni web site but CJ tells me they are drag shocks and can still be had. Mine were coming off this weekend but will have to wait a couple weeks.

in a non touring car perspective are they streetable, or dangerous? i dont want to wind up in a ditch becuase of the stupid things.
Would it be smarter to just swap shocks at the track?
