The 12-bolt will have deeper perches for the multi-leaf spring to sit in. Eeither the 12-bolt will have to have the multi-leaf perches replaced with mono-leaf perches (worse idea) *or* the 68 will have to be converted to multi-leafs (much better idea).
btw, which shock is longer? Ones for multi-leafs or ones for mono-leafs??

On a related note, if I already have a 12 bolt, but with a mono-leaf spring, will I have any problems going to multi-leaf, or will I have to do all the adjustments referred to in previous posts? I'd like to go to a 5 leaf, but from all the previous posts I've read, I'm a little leary. I'm just wondering if it would be easier, seeings as how I already have a 12 bolt rearend. Thanks....KZ

You should convert to multi-leaf. The shocks are different, and I believe the multi-leaf shocks are longer, due to the deeper spring pocket.
Does your 12 bolt have mono or multi leaf perches? If mono, I can see your hesitation at the switch since you will need to do some welding. I would go to high performance monos with a traction bar or Cal-tracs.

I'm not sure which perches they are, how would I tell? Measure the width and/or depth?

Thanks for the info. The 12 bolt,69,model came with Multi leaf springs Every thing Bolted into place under the 68 with no trouble. Should I order shocks for a 68 mutileaf or 69 mutileaf or are they the same. Did not have old ones to compare with THANKS
