Should teflon tape or other material be used on brake line fittings to help prevent leaks?

The sealing on brake lines is made by the tubing's flared end, and not by the thread itself. So even when you don't see leaks, after using teflon tape, it's not safe to use it. Inspect, repair, or replace any leaking brake line, it's your life and the life of your loved ones, which are in risk. If you don't have experience with double flaring, the pre assembled lines are a good alternative. Good luck. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks, I don't have any leaks, but I am in the process of re-installing my brake lines. Just want to make certain I do it the best way for the reasons you mention above.
