A few years ago I purchased a set of custom 1.5" drop springs from Detroit Eaton and was really not up on all the companies making springs at that time. At this point I'm not certain what the lowered amount from stock the springs are, a long and furstrating story. Anyway, can any 69 owners whip out your measuring tapes and/or have pics of a car with 1.5" drop rear springs. My car sits with 23 3/4" from the ground to the rear fender lip with 25.5" diameter tires (BFGoodrich T/A 265/50-15). The reason this question comes up, it's actually been bothering me for some time, is the ride height of the car seems low. When I match the the front end to the rear (I have Landrum adjustable front spring spacers) the front end sits about 1" lower than what is recommended by Gouldstrand and Chicane67, both of whom sight measurements from lower ball joint and A-arm mounting bolt to ground resectively.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, I'm not home so I can't take a measurement for you, but here's a picture. This has the Hotchkis springs front - 2" drop and rear drop I beleive is advertised a 1-1/4".
The tires are 235/60/15 front, 255/60/15 rear.

Brian,

Looks like from your measurements my springs are like a 3.5" drop! They always looked low but damn. Eaton really dropped the ball on these springs. Anyone have a set of Hotchkis springs they need to get rid of?

Thanks,

Keep in mind I am running a 255/60HR15 which is a larger tire than your 50 series, so this results in lifting the rear a bit (.8")
Your Tire : 25.4in
My Tire : 27in
So 1.6", half is .8" lift

Thus with my tires you would be at 24.55" in the rear, still over an inch lower than my 1.5" drop leaf springs from Hotchkis
I am very satisfied with my ride height in the rear.

3SS's -

I like the stance of your car. Are you running the traditional small block engine? If so, with aluminum heads, or cast iron?
