How hard is it to convert a manual steering 67 Camaro coupe over to power steering?

Thanks.

Depends on what goes wrong. smile.gif

Kind of joking but really I'm in the middle of doing that same thing to my 67 along with control arm bushings and power disc brakes. I got a 85 z/28 steering box from a junk yard for $50 good deal but after bolting it up I noticed a leak at the rag joint end. So now I'm replacing seals in the worm shaft/rag joint end. Don't let this discourage you they say it's worth doing the conversion. I'll let you know when I'm done.

See if SPEEDWAY isn't still selling three turn Durex rebuilt P/S gearboxes without a core charge??

I think it was a Durex one?? I'd have to go out and look

I was lucky cause I found an 89 T/A PS 12/4 box in perfect conditions ($50), ordered a Lee mfg. rag joint and fitting adapters for the application (±$70) and a friend of mine gave a a 72 Nova PS pump with its corresponding brackets and pressure hose(nothing/nada). A couple ft. of power steering reinforced return hose at a local auto parts ($4). A new moog pitman arm ($60) I even replaced the fitting that attaches to the PS box, from the Nova's pressure hose, with one from the modern box's hose, just to make sure it threads correctly to the box. The threaded fitting end just needed a little chamfer, where it makes contact with the flared tube, to work properly with the flare ended tubing on the nova's pressure hose ($15). Steering fluid ($6). The worst part of all this, for me, was removing all the air out of the system. graemlins/clonk.gif The end results, GREAT!! Got to be easier overthere, considering the amount of junkyards available. Just my 0.02 cents. graemlins/beers.gif
