Well worth the money and it can make or brake a chassis from one that handles well....to one that handles great. Definatley something to consider with above average spring rates or on a chassis that is going to be raced (autocross, roadrace, drag race) where rules allow.... When it counts, I dont build a car without them. 69camaroralleygreen Feb 28th, 03, 07:45 PM how about those solid locking body mounts for street use will it give any vibrations? mike davidpozzi Feb 28th, 03, 08:02 PM Go with solid subframe mounts for any Camaro. There is no Camaro that needs the subframe wiggling around under the car. David bc_woodbutcher Mar 1st, 03, 07:50 PM Have you found any difference between manufacturers when it comes to urethane bushings are they all pretty much the same?? I hear often that squeak is a problem. Joe Harrison Mar 2nd, 03, 07:52 AM I have solid subframe bushings and the only thing I have noticed is that my exuast seems to vibrate the car a little more. I have a cheesed out system with flowmasters and turn downs before the rear end. I never had this problem with the rubber. I have a very good feeling that when I get a "REAL" exhaust system this will not be a problem. I highly recomend them though. The car has a firmer feel but the ride was not effected. My question is this about the solid control arm bushings, how much do they effect the ride? Do they allow the effects of bad roads to be felt in the car? Which are better the global west or the detroit speed one's. I noticed that detroit speed only sells lowers with urathane uppers? What is the best way to go here a total upeer and lower treatment or just the solid lowers with with urathane uppers. I am thinking the detroit speed set up is more for a street drivin Camaro and the global west for race applications? Any thoughts on this? Joe 69camaroralleygreen Mar 2nd, 03, 09:31 AM NOW IM CONFUSED  IM TRYING TO DECIDE WHAT SET UP TO BUY I WAS CHECKING OUT BRENT JACKSONS CAMARO HE HAS THE GLOBAL WEST SET UP THEY LOOK GOOD I DONT THINK IT COULD HURT TO HAVE SOLID STUFF FOR THE STREET. I HAVE A MONTH TO DECIDE. MIKE  chicane67 Mar 2nd, 03, 10:47 AM Go solid and dont look back. Another plus with the Global bushings is that you can lower the front sheet metal a 1/2" over the front subframe without reducing wheel travel. (part number 801). As David has stated, it is undesirable to allow the subframe to move around. There is a minimal amount of road noise transfered into the interior and it doesnt harshen up the ride enough to really feel a difference. RickD Mar 2nd, 03, 03:04 PM I too have the GW body bushings and control arm bushings. I feel that these mods allow your suspension to more truly do it's job. As far as the control arms - the stiction of the stock bushings is significant. I didn't notice any downside to the solid body bushings. 69camaroralleygreen Mar 2nd, 03, 04:50 PM thanks guys im going with global west solid body mounts and control arm bushings im sold! mike  |
