They going for $95 a pair with hardware... Dave P - any thoughts on this? Maybe a entry for CBB? Nick

elcamino72 Dec 7th, 04, 05:45 AM Will these calipers work on the regular stock 1969 11" discs? Do you have a link so that we can see a picture? How about a PH#, I'm interested.
Asedan Dec 7th, 04, 01:45 PM Go to http://outlawdiscbrakes.com you will find what you are looking for. GL
dyno jonn Dec 7th, 04, 02:30 PM You'll have to adapt a different brake hose to use them because circle cars use 1/8 pipe thread fittings. Also they are made for odd thickness rotors.
elcamino72 Dec 7th, 04, 03:32 PM Alright, these are not what I had in mind ... I was thinking of something that looked a lot more OEM and was of single piston design.
Thanks anyways
nick V Dec 7th, 04, 06:22 PM Hey All - Inresponse to Brian's question - these things are a dead ringer for OEM Calipers and are direct replacement for single piston 69-72 GMs - I'll try to get more info on who makes and what the part number is and post this week. Have to call Jay Dee in the AM....
pdq67 Dec 8th, 04, 02:13 AM Cool, the big ones have 2-3/4" pistons vs stock at 2-15/16" and fit the .81" thick and bigger 1.25" thick h-d rotors.
Probably just the thing for a "pdqCBB" front setup, imho...

mjs-13 Dec 8th, 04, 01:53 PM Check a previous post by me concerning Wilwood GEN III Aluminum calipers. They will replace the single piston caliper if you are interested in doing the "cheap big brake" mod with the Corvette rotors and drum brake spindle on Pozzi's site.
nick V Dec 28th, 04, 10:07 AM Hey MJS-13 - nail on the head! Thats what I was looking for. Here's the link from Wilwood on what I just found - http://www.wilwood.com/Products/001-Calipers/024-GM3/index.asp
A local speedshop has them for sale for about a $100 a pop.
Thanks
elcamino72 Dec 28th, 04, 04:27 PM Thanks for the link!!
davidpozzi Dec 28th, 04, 06:45 PM The maximum bore of that caliper is 2.75"
The stock caliper has a 2.935" bore.
A smaller master cyl may be needed. I can't say if this caliper will work great or not, it all depends on how stiff it is compared to a stock iron caliper.

nick V Dec 29th, 04, 09:39 PM hmmm - based on those numbers - looks like I'm gonna hold off changing out my stock single piston calipers! I finally got the disc setup where I want it, don't want to change anything - Was hoping for an identical aluminum replacement. Thanks for the info!!!!
