Ok, I have been through the archives trying to make a decision. The GW price on their uppers with del-alums should drop to $450 with the holiday sale compared to the $700 for the DS unit. I am trying to improve the cornering ability of my first gen. I know this is such a nebulous question but considering cost/performance which would be better. The GW's (possibly with the guildstrand mod) or the DS with its custom mod? I know the DS's have that cool camber adjustment on it but is it worth the extra $250?

I have a set of the GW's, albeit with stock bushings. They are pretty nice pieces, and also allow for camber adjustments through a different approach. I have mine set at 6 degrees positive, so no sweat there.
The GW mod is essentially the same as the Gulstrand mod, and whatever you decide, DO THIS MOD!!!!! With the tubular arms, there is no clearance issue around the mount on the frame, so it is just drill two holes, bolt the piece on, and align the car.
One thing that can be said, if you go with GW arms, you may be waiting a while before you actually get them. I ordered two different things from them, at both time they stated that the parts were on the shelf, but they weren't. It took over a month to get both orders. I am not alone in this regard, by the way.
I have not seen the DSE arms in person, but given their prowess at engineering things right, I'd guess that they are far superior to the GW arms. Alot of the time, you get what you pay for, this may be one of those intances. That said, there probably isn't a whole lot of difference in the geometry between them, so either will likely give similar performance.
Do the Gulstrand mod.......

Oops. I meant CASTER adjustments, not camber....

I too have the GW's and I am pretty happy with them thus far. I had the car aligned and the 6* caster is built into the arms, I also went with -.6* camber for the time being. Mine came with delalums and billet shafts. Nice pieces, I also did the gulstrand mod in preparation for the spring autocross season. I guess it comes down to money and if you will be doing frequent geometry changes. The adjustability would be a nice feature. SS
