What types of suspensions are you guys running in your camaros? I have a 79 and it is just way soft for my liking. I am looking to upgrade the suspension and need some advice! -Thanks. -Redline

i put in a hyperflex bushing/body mount kit by energy suspension, and that stiffened the car up quite a bit. that requires a rebuild of the front and rear suspensions and is quite time consuming but definetly worth the effort.
i also put in a swaybar in the front (stock size) and urethane bushings.
sybframe connectors will also help out alot, do them when you do the rear suspension, so you dont have to do undo the springs twice.
i've got my connectors in my room, until my brothers car removes itself from the garage (we're swapping trans).

I used to own a 79 Z/28.
The car was a bit too soft, had very little travel off the bump stops and tire clearance with stock tires, I think a 225/15 was nearly hitting the fenders.

i have also heard about rear sway bars- are they any good?- what about different springs?

Stiffer springs are in order. A small rear sway bar may be needed depending on what rate springs you use and what the front end weight is, and tire sizes.
Some Camaro tuners don't like to use rear sway bars, they think the rear bar affects traction out of corners, you might experience one wheel spinning.
I don't think a small rear bar would hurt traction much and if needed to balance the handling, I'd use one. Just be aware of the down side of it.
If you can get the front end to bite well enough, a rear bar is probably not needed.
