I have the AGR gearbox and pump from summit. I put the inverted flare to -6an adapters and a stainless braided 6an line with earls 90* elbows. The problem is that my steering is real choppy at idle. Like there is no fluid. When I raise the RPM's it steers fine??? Can you buy a overdrive pulley? I have the March billet pulley.
Thanks Mike

The factory pulley is huge so that the pump runs relatively slowly when the engine is at high speed. You can buy overdrive pulleys for the P/S pump from March and others. Normally people are trying to underdrive them.
What RPM does the car idle at? How high do you have to raise the RPM to get the steering to settle down?

The car idles at 700. And to get smooth steering it has to be about 1000rpm. Can the fitting be drilled out some to get better flow? The problem is at idle from static pressure though?

Make sure your belt is not slipping when it happens.
Does it happen when you turn the wheel at normal speeds or quickly?
If it happens at idle and when steering slowly, it is probably not going to respond to drilling out the flow orifice.
A smaller pulley sounds like a good idea.

Give AGR a call. They are good people.

Mine does that too. Talk to Gary at AGR, he can help you. I have a new pump, i'm going to switch it out this weekend.

I just got off of the phone with Randy at March. He told me that the p/s pulley is overdriven already, so changing the pulley won't help you. Sounds like the pump could have a problem.
