I noticed that if you are running quicker than 11.99 in the quarter you have to have one. jvolk81 Jan 29th, 01, 05:35 PM It is a loop made of flat metal stock that keeps the front of the driveshaft from hitting the ground in the event of a u-joint failure. It has to be mounted within 6in. from the end of the tranny tailshaft. In extreme cases the front of the shaft digging into the track can catapult the rear und of the car in the air. Ive put one on every performance car ive owned just as cheap insurance. It also ups the chances of the driveshaft being salvagable in the event of a failure Hope this clarifys things. Here is a link with the picture of one. This company has some good quality products. I have heard several cases where a driveshaft broke and came into the car and killed the driver or passenger. |
