Sorry guys, did a search, can't find it...so could someone point me in the right direction or confirm my intended course of action?

When attempting to unbolt the rear spring mounting plates that bolt into the rear floorboard, the "nuts" broke loose and now everything just spins and doesn't loosen any further.

There was a pretty good discussion just recently and what I understood is that I should just use a small cutoff wheel to lop off the heads of these bolts. If I do this, do I just punch the remaining bolt up into the car and let them rattle around forever? Any suggestions? Got a title to the post I'm talking about?

POD D TOP,

I found the old post. It is titled "rear leaf spring removal-please help!!". It is in the brakes and suspension forum and was started by maross396 on 19 July 2000. Read through it and you will have the answer.

Thanks Mark! That's the post I was looking for. How weird that it first posted Sept '99 and was being discussed July 2000!! Regardless, it's what I needed to know and it looks like sparks will be flying!
